Dude! My lj layout is cityscape Kiev!! I was born in that town! I lived in an apartment on the Maidan (the main square there) for the first 6 years of my life! Whenever there was a big political thing in Kiev, it would always be on the Maidan and i could show people my building! And now its on my layout! SUCCESS!

Julila's Lovely Christmas

Well... it was really good and really bad at the same time.
The presents sucked. Or rather.. there were barely any because my birthday is like a week before and people can't be bothered to give someone christmas presents if they already got them a b-day present. Whatever. The ones that I did get were pretty damn cool.
Lauren: handmade nose warmer. ♥
Mommy: Pretty earrings and a Reebok bag thingy that i was planning to get myself. ♥
Tonya: Headbands, stationary stuffs, hairbrush ♥
Nicola: Latest issue of Whatever the Fuck You Want, cute and soft teddy bear, truffles, and sex coupons that I may be issuing to some people. Because upon reading them, certain people came to mind. ♥♥♥

So I tried snowboarding on Sunday. The instructor's name was Tristan and I think he was like australian because of his awesome accent. Anyways... I was doing really well until a strong gust of wind knocked me over and i landed badly on my wrist. I had to ski the rest of the trip. I saw Ilya, though. (some of you may remember him from my freshman semi) We had to bend over backwards to get permission from the families so we could ski/board together today... and the weather decided to be fucky and make my family not want to drive up there. poop. Maybe i'll bring him to anna's new year's party though. that should be fun. Tristan and I ended up hanging out durinig his break the next day. He laughs really funny. Can't really describe it, but it made me giggle.

I had anna and nicola over so we could take advantage of ping-pong, the pool, hot tub and arcade. Twas fun.

SUCH BORING RUSSIAN PEOPLE THOUGH! After the first two nights of hanging out with them, I ended up preferring staying in and reading/watching tv to seeing them again. Wtf, man? Wtf?

I got new skis too. And boots. And bindings. All for $150. I suspect that this was to make me not beg the parents for a snowboard. Ah well. I'll just have to save up for one.

Not a really bad trip. Got some alcohol. I wanna go to lido on the 28th. Anyone free? Contact me if you are.

I believe in goofiness and good times. Sometimes, taking a vacation from being serious is relaxing. This could be a figurative vacation or a literal one. A silly comment, or a funny action can really lighten the mood during a stressful day.

A very famous playwright, William Shakespeare, had a very solid grasp of the concept of comic relief. Even in famous tragedies such as Romeo and Juliet, he included the Nurse to make things seem brighter with her anecdotes and attitude. Just as in Shakespeare’s plays, people very much like this Nurse can be found in real life.

Being goofy doesn’t necessarily require cheering up people that you are good friends with. It could be a form of personal amusement, even. On a trip of mine to Mexico, upon meeting people that I didn’t think I would want to see again, I would use a false name and a fake Russian accent. Though the nature of these little white lies never made it to the surface, they created a sort of fun game to amuse me whenever boredom would strike me with the added bonus of providing great story material for when I returned back to Danvers.

So where can one act hilariously insane? Generally, places where goofiness is much needed are those where the culprit feels comfortable, and everyone else constantly feels stressed. French class is where I strike. Anyone that is in French with me can look across the classroom at any time and find my friends and me attempting to silence our giggles about one of our latest comments. In this kind of environment, virtually any phrase can be twisted into one that induces fits of laughter. Creating atmospheres like this one can provide small escapes from classes full of serious people and wishes of being somewhere else.

Sure, acting silly can earn scorn from those that are too serious from their own good. Yes, being goofy can distract the people around a person, but acting insane can also provide that little nudge that helps people lighten up during the day. Whether you like it or not, goofiness can (and will) distract you from your problems for at least a little bit, even if in the form of simply being annoying. Good times are created when a friend makes a seemingly (or actually) dumb comment. It’s these good times that are what we look back on later.

1. I'll respond with something random I like about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll name something we should do together.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me (or just me).
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll leave you a quote that is somehow appropriate to you.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal so you can do the same for other people.

Yeah, the semi was pretty fun. Except that i did some stuff i shouldn't have. And will now have to shoot myself. But it was still a fun night. Seeing people like Thera and Randy, and Ethan and Sam, and others together put a huge smile on my face.

Today i had a piano competition. I think i did pretty decent. I'm not 100% sure that i will win, like i was in the previous years, but i daresay, i put up a good fight, and have a good chance for 1st.

Doesn't this remind you of the 5th harry potter book? I mean, just look at the parallels:
Kiki - Umbridge
Levine - Fudge

and then some of the others are... some of the others. I thought it was rather interesting.

Gorgeous, no? My favorite at the Guggenheim Russia! exhibit. Not very artistic, i know, but I love how well it was painted.

I'm trying to find out who's who, so if you know, help me out.

I know that Lenin is the guy in the middle. His wife is closest to him in the bottom right row of people, and stalin is in the bottom left row, 2nd shortest. That's all I know.

I had a mole on the back of my neck that could potentially turn cancerous. I didn't tell anyone about it because I was scared, and didn't want to have people freaking out. I got it removed today, and now i have an ugly scar avec stitches in its place. It's all good.

As of this entry, I am Friends only! Comment to be added!

Wow, I haven't launched Operation Revenge yet, and he is already avoiding me. That fucker is scared, and I don't blame him. I love this... its making me feel like I don't have to do real work to scare the shit out of him. Not such a big man, after all, is he? Afraid of a little russina girl like me. He could easily beat me up, too, he has more muscle, is about half a foot taller, and is about 2 years older. Haha, a cute little russian girl scared him.

Well he deserves it.
If you particularly hate someone that i talk to (but am not friends with) and want to freak them out, and i will use them as one of my test subjects. Email me the name... and I will do my best. (jshuru[at]gmail.com)

The people that know me well know that to provoke me when I am already mad at them is pretty much a suiucide attempt. If some of my close friends weren't there to calm me down, he would not have lived to see tomorrow.

He thinks that just because he is older than me and has a huge ego, that he can provoke me and not have me mad at him. I was shaking with rage, that is how mad I was. I don't think that I have ever been this mad at ANYBODY.

I just saw my reflection in the window. So this is how the murderous glare looks. I like it. I am VERY happy that Syd was there with me to calm me down or else I don't know what I would have done. He wasn't even in the building, what he said to me was over IM.
